It’s amazing how deep of a connection we have to the use of our money and our relationship with God. When we are consistently tithing we are telling God, “I believe you will bless me” and when we don’t we are ultimately saying, “I don’t trust God.” I believe God knew how hard it would be for us to tithe and I think that’s why throughout all the scripture, 31,173 verses He gives us one verse, one area, His followers are told to test  Him.  In the book of Malachi, when teaching about generosity, God said, “Test Me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven.” See it’s not about the money.  When it comes to our finances, what God really wants from us is our hearts and our trust.

Tithing-a giving principle that teaches us to return the first 10% of our income to the local church- is one of the most tangible ways we worship God. We use the term return because we believe it’s all God’s anyways.  Psalm 24:1 says “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him.”  We believe God created the world, and all the people in it.  That He gave us our health to work, created our uniqueness to work in our skills, gave us our creativity, desires, and passions. We believe God’s over everything, including our lives, so we return to Him the first 10%. By doing so, it declares that He is first in our lives, that we trust Him, and opens our hearts to His plans.

Proverbs 3:9-10 says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” We believe wholeheartedly that God blesses those who live generously, so if you would like to give online, click the blue GIVE button and follow through the form to set your tithe. Giving is easy, safe, and secure.
